The fire
show

Not a bonfire. A live fire performance - staff, poi, and three hundred children sitting dead silent in the dark for the first time all week.

It is the thing they describe first when you fetch them.

tell you about first

The part you
actually care about

These are the people your child will be with. Every counsellor is Level 1 First Aid certified, trained in child psychology and safety protocol, and completes an apprenticeship before qualifying.

Our fully trained counsellor team

The rule we never bend

No two people are ever alone together. Not two children, not a child and a counsellor. If a camper needs to go back to their cabin, at least two others go with them, one of whom is their cabin counsellor.

  • Trained counsellors supervise the children 24 hours a day.
  • Every counsellor is Level 1 First Aid certified, and trained in child psychology and safety protocol - then must complete an apprenticeship before qualifying.
  • Private, gated estate in the Pilanesberg. Controlled access, malaria-free.
  • Valuables collected and locked on arrival, returned at departure.

If something goes wrong

  • A fully stocked infirmary on site, staffed by Level 3 First Aiders for the whole camp.
  • A public hospital five minutes away and a private hospital about 25 minutes away - both open 24 hours.
  • Every counsellor leading an off-property activity carries a First Aid kit, checked and restocked twice a day.
  • Day bags with sunscreen, water bottle and hat are checked by counsellors, not just handed out.
Camp Wildside has never had a serious incident. Ask us for the full safety policy - we will send it before you book, not after.

Lifeguards on every water activity, the swim test and life jackets, where they sleep and what they eat - all on the safety page.

Cabins sit under Pilanesberg's native trees, with covered verandas. Each has its own en-suite bathroom, and counsellors on duty close by through the night.

Cabins are named, not numbered - each has its animal painted on the wall - and children are placed by age and gender.

The questions
we get most

If yours isn't here, WhatsApp us on 083 654 2784 or 064 916 7877. A person answers.

How is supervision handled?
Trained counsellors supervise the children 24 hours a day. Our core safety rule is that no two people are ever alone together - not two children, and not a child and a counsellor. If a camper needs to return to their cabin, at least two others go with them. Every counsellor is Level 1 First Aid certified and completes an apprenticeship before qualifying.
What happens if my child gets sick or hurt?
We have a fully stocked infirmary on site, staffed by Level 3 First Aiders for the whole camp, and every counsellor is Level 1 First Aid certified. A public hospital is five minutes away and a private hospital about 25 minutes away - both open 24 hours. Counsellors leading off-property activities carry First Aid kits that are checked and restocked twice daily.
When are the December 2026 camps and what do they cost?
There are two December 2026 holiday camps: Sunday 6 to Saturday 12 December, and Saturday 12 to Friday 18 December. Each runs seven days and six nights and costs R6 000 per child. For school quotes or group rates, WhatsApp us on 083 654 2784 or 064 916 7877 or email info@campwildside.co.za.
What do you feed them, and can you handle allergies and religious diets?
Three hot meals a day plus a daily tuckshop visit, prepared fresh on site - fresh salads and freshly baked bread included. We cater for all religious dietary requirements, as well as vegetarian, vegan and allergy-friendly diets. Tell us the details when you book and we handle each child individually.

No long forms

Talk to a human

Most parents would rather send a WhatsApp than fill in a form at 11pm. So that's the front door.

For my own child

Tell us your child's age and which week you're looking at. We'll come back with availability, the full kit list and anything else you want to know.

Or send us a message

Prefer your own email? info@campwildside.co.za. We only use your details to answer you.

For a school group

We'll send the full info pack - a sample hour-by-hour itinerary, safety documentation, staffing, room allocations and an invoice-based quote.

  • One night to a month or longer - you set the length
  • Fully customisable: bush survival, team building, leadership, or a full holiday camp
  • We build the programme, you build it, or we build it together
  • Add-ons at additional cost: Pilanesberg Big 5 game drives, Sun City day trips, transport
